WARM Gallery opened to the public on April 10, 1976. While the women artists who founded the Gallery had high hopes, it was a shock when 1,500 people showed up to
celebrate the opening!

By the time WARM closed the Gallery in February of 1991, ninety women had participated as Gallery members, and many more were directly touched by its programs. WARM: a women’s collective art space was a major cultural institution in the Twin Cities and beyond.

This book documents the 50th anniversary of the founding of WARM Gallery with an exhibition of artwork by 73 of the original Gallery members. Hosted by the Kickernick Gallery in downtown Minneapolis, It is right across the alley from the original WARM Gallery space.
