Artist Statement
The abstract paintings in this exhibition are based on observations of flooded rivers I have sketched and photographed on site in Minnesota. I interpret the broken and altered landscape through light, color, and abstraction, inviting the viewer to experience the volatility of tensions and resolutions that have an echo in our subjective experiences.
